The HP 2133 Mini-Note is one of HP’s older Netbook offerings compared to the 1010NR or the 1035NR which are newer models. However, older doesn’t automatically equal worse. The 2133 Mini-Note definitely provides an exception to this rule.

A slight drawback

HP 2133 Mini Note
There is however one major drawback, which is the 2133’s slower Via C7-M CPU. Its clock speed is still 1.6GHz, which means that you will not notice much of a difference. However, to tell the truth, the Intel Atom is definitely a better processor in practice.

Anyway, with 2GB RAM included, you will hardly be able to notice or tell the difference. Because of the larger 120GB hard drive and the faster spin of 7,200 rpm the performance of the 2133 is actually better in many applications than that of its younger brothers.

Benefits of the 2133
There are even more advantages and other options to this older model. The HP 2133 Mini-Note is 10.4″ wide by 6.5″ deep and only 1.1″ high. It has a great look and also a solid feel because of its solid, brushed aluminium lid and its magnesium-alloy chassis. There is no need to worry when taking this Netbook on the road as it offers you everything you need including USB 2.0 ports, an SD card slot, a mini-FireWire port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

I am sure you will be pleased with the 2311’s 1280 x 768 resolution and its bright, scratch-resistant 9-inch screen. This is truly outstanding for a Netbook monitor. It really reduces eyestrain especially when you use it on longer trips unlike other minibooks.

Using an optional ExpressCard for mobile broadband means that you can take it with you more often. Dragging a standard 8lb laptop around an airport terminal for example can get very tiring. Your arme won’t get tired with this model of under 3lbs.

More advantages of the HP 2133
The HP 2133 will also run Windows Vista Basic without any hitch – not all Netbook models do that. Of course it has to be clear that you cannot expect the same great performance you will get of a high-end laptop or even a gaming desktop, but running the same OS like on other machines is still possible with the extra memory and hard drive capacity. This definitely reduces the mental wear and tear normally needed for adapting from one system to the next in different situations.

Another area where the Mini-Notebook outdoes competition is the keyboard. Like its younger brothers the 1010NR and the 1035NR the 2133 offers a standard layout which in size is full 92% of a standard laptop keyboard. You won’t have to adapt your typing style when you switch from a desktop or standard laptop to your Netbook. This makes life easier, plus it has a great feel! Furthermore, the trackpad is fully functional, unobtrusive and also easy to use. Some trackpads jump and jerk everytime you are getting near on them, but with the 2133 this problem is eliminated.

I would say that for the HP Mini-Note 2133 “older is better” holds true. So check out the HP 2133 Mini Note!
